IDDSI UK Festival - 19th September 2024

This ever-popular event is an unbeatable opportunity for learning and engagement between healthcare professionals, care food and drink providers and manufacturers, and all those involved with dysphagia care. The interactive demonstrations and taster sessions demonstrate an extremely wide range of best practices using IDDSI in health and social care settings -something of benefit for any delegate.

This year’s festival theme is “A day in the life with dysphagia" covering all aspects of dysphagia care from oral hygiene and its impact on health (Dr Julie Gallagher), oral medication (Prof David Wright), daily life (Tim Dallinger, social care consultant) and case studies of best practice in day-long nutrition and hydration (Janne Schack, Rachael Masters, Niamh Condon, Oak House Kitchen) with special presentations including The Swallows head & neck cancer charity, and case studies from the Care Quality Commission and NHS acute care.

The day includes:

  • Guest speaker presentations from healthcare leaders, culinary experts and senior industry figures,
  • Interactive workshops,
  • Exhibitions and product samples from more than a dozen specialist suppliers,
  • On-stage panel discussions.
These activities provide the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of dysphagia from multiple perspectives.
